Windsurfing: Felixstowe Levington Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: F4-6 Surf / Sea State: Flat chop swell Air Temperature: 13C Sea Temperature: cool Weather: Nice Max Speed: 25.3 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 12.3 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Barmy Xmas wind from the south had the trailer on the road linking up with
Chris S at 11.00 on incoming tide. Wind was stonking but was gusty and
swinging hitting F5 mainly from the west but switching to SW without
warning.
The marina was being dredged so near the bank was a bit murky so waded out
the JP146 pro with a 6.7 Hellcat.
Couldn't use the 120L as the wind shadow was huge on shifts and Chris
didn't get going on his 89L / 6.0M.
He had a stonking reach down to the docks as I was faffing, but as I chased
the wind shifted forcing the gybe.
Good reaches up and down with a good dollop of rest as arm ached. Nice flat
water gybes and some nice catapults on the wind shifts. In one gust as I
water started the wind picked me up and went straight over the top in the
water the other side whoah!
After a couple of hours the tide started ripping out and just missed the
dreaded muddy walk. Coffee, sausage rolls and mince pies with Chris
followed by 2 hrs steam / sauna / cuzzi has def kicked oft the
crimble...
